..What I strongly believe is that this is not a rogue set of cops; this is standard practice. It is what it is. It's the utter terror of a wayward bureaucracy..

..Russian Empire in Colour..

..Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii (1863-1944) undertook a photographic survey of the Russian Empire with the support of Tsar Nicholas II. He used a specialized camera to capture three black and white images in fairly quick succession, using red, green and blue filters, allowing them to later be recombined and projected with filtered lanterns to show near true color images...

An Open Letter to the Popular People's Photography Front

Dear Friends, Family and occasional Foe,

I hope everyone is doing well! The Last couple of months have been fairly eventful for me so here is the news in brief from the frontlines. If anything in particular takes your interest, you know the score ..Pink for the Link..

The highlights of 2012 for me were really, the publication of ..Anthropocene.. in the May Issue of ..Esquire Russia..

and having ..Arecibo.. reviewed on ..Conscientious.. One of Life Magazines must read photo blogs! Here’s a snippet:

‘In order to make work that critiques the very thing that it eventually embellishes, the work must conceal its agenda behind deliberate layers of intersecting imagery and absolute conceptual rigour. The work must have entire conviction that it is not just another Google project.’
~ Christopher Thomas

Some very generous people also gave me space and time in the following amazing publications.

Gorilla Film Magazine - May 2012 #4
Esquire Magazine(Russia)-May 2012 #77
The Creators Project: a partnership with Intel and Vice
the Atlantic CITIES
F Stoppers
Journal du Design
• 'Weaving the World Together':Architizer.com
Professional Photography Blog
• OCD World: Broadsheet.ie
Feature Shoot
The Photo Review: You Are Here 2012
• Concientious: Featured Work - A Letter From London

I also had the opportunity to work with loads of great organisations and galleries, who let me participate in exhibitions across the UK and Ireland!

• ‘Between Here and There’,Castlemead Bristol,
• 'This Offset Space' Little Green Street Gallery, Dublin
• ‘Between Here and There’, Tower Warf, Bristol,
• "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" Sallynoggin CFE, Dublin.

All in all a big thanks to everyone who has made all these great opportunities possible! 2012 has so far been a great year.

Should be a lot more news to come in the next month, but you’ll have to wait until next time to find out,

Same bat-time, same bat-channel..

Muchos Love,

Dave

..A tiny number of ideas can go a long way, as we've seen. And the Internet makes that more and more likely. What's happening is that we might, in fact, be at a time in our history where we're being domesticated by these great big societal things, such as Facebook and the Internet - MARK D. PAGEL..
